Part-Time Web Researcher - RocketXL

RocketXL is seeking an energetic and organized part-time web researcher to roll up his/her sleeves and conduct web research on consumer brands, products and events. How do people on myspace or facebook feel about a brand, product launch or idea? What are blogs saying about an upcoming movie or album release? Work with a team of young, hip, smart professionals to scour the web and research what word-of-mouth and grass-roots sites are saying. In this position you will be responsible for identifying sites, postings and articles and tracking consumer sentiment.

Responsibilities:

* Identify key online destinations and tastemakers
* Use blog search engines to identify postings on relevant topics
* Monitor posts, articles and blogs on myspace.com, facebook.com, tagworld.com and other social networking sites
* Use Alexa.com and Media Metrix Net ratings to identify the key and influential sites
* Sign up for user forums and search forums for relevant postings, articles and comments
* Track all postings, articles and sites via excel spreadsheets

Requirements:

* Extreme familiarity with online social networking, the blogosphere, and the general online environment
* Excellent writing and interpersonal communication skills
* College education
* Ability to multitask and self-manage in a fun, fast-pasted, rapidly growing and radically independent environment

Internship/Volunteer Opportunity - Los Angeles Zoo

The Los Angeles Zoo seeks students interested in adding to their portfolio by volunteering to work on projects for the games and activities section of our new website, which is scheduled to roll out in early Winter, 2007. Hours are flexible and most work can be done either remotely or in-house; most communication can happen online or by telephone. Projects can include very simple games, to sophisticated, multi-layered activities. We are looking for enthusiastic, competent students who can take the initiative and then follow through.
