ITP321 - Programming Enterprise Wide Information Systems

Take an in-depth look at the design, architecture and programming methodology of Enterprise Resource and Planning systems (ERPs). You’ll learn to design, code and implement custom programs for ERPs with an emphasis placed on the SAP R/3 environment using the ABAP/4 programming language. You’ll write programs that can query a relational database for specific information, create internal tables for manipulating data, and design interactive reporting screens.


ITP322 - Configuring Business Process Integration

In this course, you’ll gain basic configuration experience and an understanding of the value of process integration when you learn to configure an ERP system for a hypothetical company from the ground up. You’ll design the organizational structure, master data, and rules to support the core business processes for the manufacturing, procurement, customer order management, and financial tracking functions of a business. Emphasis will be placed on the cross-functional business processes and critical integration points that are necessary for the success of a company.


ITP454 - Enterprise Resource Planning, Design, and Implementation

Build it and they will come. With this course, you’ll get an in-depth look at the process and requirements necessary to implement an Enterprise Resource Planning System (ERP) for an organization. Grouped into small project teams, you’ll begin by setting up a Windows server system which you’ll monitor throughout the semester. Then, following SAP’s methodology you’ll implement an ERP system that can be used to coordinate an organization’s activities. Data will also be transported from an old legacy system to your new ERP system. Finally, you’ll measure a new level of success when you configure your ERP system to model the organization’s customer-order process.


ITP455 - Enterprise Information Portals

It’s the portal to the future! In this course, you’ll gain an understanding of the fundamental concepts behind Enterprise Information Portals and how to use them in the e-business workplace. You’ll get hands-on experience designing, installing, configuring and administering the core functionalities of a basic portal solution. You’ll also learn how to streamline the portal environment by incorporating a Knowledge Management Platform and installing a Unification Server.


ITP486 - Securing & Auditing Enterprise Resource Planning Systems

It’s all about how well you want to sleep at night. This course highlights security issues and raises awareness of security requirements in an ERP environment. You’ll be introduced to the security, audit and control features of ERP systems and will have the opportunity to explore both the management and technical issues that relate to ERP security. You’ll learn to configure, monitor and trace various aspects of ERP vulnerability by evaluating the security of database tables, identifying separation-of-duty concerns, and isolating critical authorizations that pose risks to system security. As a final project, you’ll use your newfound knowledge to configure an audit information system so that a total ERP system security audit can be performed.


ITP487 - Data Warehouses and Business Intelligence

While the increased capacity and availability of data gathering and storage systems have allowed enterprises to store more information than ever before, most organizations still lack the ability to effectively consolidate, arrange and analyze this vast amount of data. Two solutions will be explored in this course, Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence (BI) Systems. With data warehousing, you will learn how to physically frame multiple sources of data in an architecture that supports the many decision-making processes and business intelligence systems of an enterprise. With business intelligence, you’ll learn how to explore data and analyze it to derive insights that can effect positive change within the enterprise.


ITP499 - Structuring Business Processes in Enterprises

Basic configuration experience and an understanding business process integration. Learn how to configure an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system for a hypothetical company from the ground up. ITP499 - IT Consulting and Professional Services

This course is designed to introduce students to basic IT professional services theories and practices, including an examination of the professional services industry. A consulting-oriented systems life cycle framework is used as the outline of the course. The phases of this framework include: problem/system analysis and evaluation, requirements definition, solution design, solution development, solution implementation, and on-going evaluation and maintenance. Students will learn how to identify and define client problems, map workflows, develop recommendations, and prototype solutions. They will be given opportunities to practice the concepts and methodologies they learn by working on a group project.


ITP499 - Managing the Supply Chain Using Advanced Planning and Optimization Tools
